Al Hoceima Travel Guide 2025 — Crystal Waters & Wild Rif

Al Hoceima, the Wild Mediterranean

Capital of Al Hoceima province, this city of 60,000 sits between the Mediterranean and the Rif Mountains. Unlike Tangier or Agadir, it has retained an authentic, un-touristified character that makes it truly special.

Al Hoceima National Park

Created in 2004, this 48,000-hectare marine and land park protects extraordinary ecosystems: crystal-clear seabeds, red sandstone cliffs and osprey colonies. Cala Iris and Sfiha coves are among Morocco's most beautiful.

Activities

  • Diving & Snorkeling: Visibility up to 20m in Quemado Bay.
  • Coastal Hiking: Cliff trails through the National Park.
  • Al Hoceima Islands: Boat trip to the Peñón de Alhucemas islands.
